Supporting
Neurodiverse
Minds

And the people who care for them.

We empower neurodiverse individuals, and parents/carers of SEND children. Helping every voice be heard through expert advocacy, tailored support and a welcoming community.

Founded by a neurodivergent parent with first-hand experience

About Us

Understanding the journey,
because we've been there.

NeuroAware CIC was founded by a neurodivergent parent in East Durham, with first-hand experience of the relentless challenges of raising a child with SEND and a clear understanding of the impact navigating these processes can have on families.

We exist for you to know your rights and to give you the knowledge and confidence to stand up for yourself or your child, by refusing to accept less than what the law requires.

We bring a detailed understanding of SEND law, EHCP processes and advocacy, combined with the reality of what it is like to sit on the other side of the table as a parent.

Your Rights

Do You Know Your
Legal Rights?

The legal test for an Education, Health and Care Needs Assessment (Children and Families Act 2014, s.36(8)) is straightforward. The EHCNA assessment is there to gather evidence, not to gatekeep support.

The legal test is a low threshold — 'may it be necessary?'

Important Update
